Privacy Policy for IYBL App

Introduction
The Idaho Youth Basketball League (“IYBL,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the IYBL mobile application (“App”) collects, uses, and protects information.
In short: We don’t collect or store any personal information. The App displays public basketball league information (schedules, scores, standings) and stores all user preferences locally on your device.
We do NOT collect, store, or transmit:
- ❌ Personal information (names, emails, phone numbers, addresses)
- ❌ User accounts or login credentials (for regular users)
- ❌ Location data
- ❌ Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- ❌ Browsing history or usage patterns
- ❌ Payment information
- ❌ Social media data
The following preferences are stored only on your device and never sent to our servers:
- Followed teams (your favorite teams)
- Notification preferences (on/off)
- Language preference (English/Spanish)
- Push notification token (for receiving game updates, if enabled)
- Cached game data (for offline viewing)
This data never leaves your device. If you delete the App, all this data is removed from your device.
3. Administrator Access
League administrators only:
- Authorized league staff can sign in to update schedules, scores, and team information
- Admin login uses secure authentication through Supabase (our database provider)
- Admin credentials are encrypted and stored securely
- Admin access is limited to IYBL staff members only
Regular users do not create accounts or sign in.
4. Push Notifications (Optional)
If you enable push notifications:
- Your device’s push notification token is stored in our database
- This token is used ONLY to send you game updates and news announcements
- You can disable notifications anytime in your device settings
- We do NOT use push tokens for advertising or tracking
The App displays public information about the Idaho Youth Basketball League:
- Game schedules and locations
- Live scores and final results
- Team standings and brackets
- Player statistics (names and jersey numbers only)
- League news and announcements
This information is publicly available and not considered personal data.
6. Third-Party Services
The App uses these trusted services for functionality:
Supabase (Database Hosting)
- Stores public league data (games, teams, scores)
- Stores push notification tokens (if you enable notifications)

Expo (Mobile App Framework)
- Powers the app’s core functionality
- May collect anonymous crash reports to help us fix bugs

We do not share any data with advertisers, analytics companies, or marketing platforms.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for general audiences, including parents, players, and coaches.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children
- The App displays public sports league information only
- Parents can supervise their child’s use of the App
If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, please contact us immediately.
8. Data Security
We take security seriously:
- ✅ All network communication uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- ✅ Admin credentials are encrypted and secured
- ✅ Database access is restricted to authorized personnel only
- ✅ No personal data is collected or stored
9. Your Rights and Choices
You control your data:
- Followed Teams: Managed locally on your device, not stored on our servers
- Notifications: Enable/disable in device settings or app settings
- Data Deletion: Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data
- No Account: Since there are no user accounts, there’s no personal data to access or delete
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect:
- Changes in our practices
- Legal or regulatory requirements
- New features or functionality
Significant changes will be communicated through:
- An in-app notice
- An updated “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy
